Open to genuine offers.
This iconic British classic example of a 1971 Bond Bug 700ES is the only road legal Bug in NZ. There is only one other Bond Bug in NZ, and that is at the Southward Car Museum near Paraparaumu. In fact there are only estimated to be 150-180 Bond Bugs left on the road worldwide of the 2268 ever manufactured. Subject to a full chassis / nuts and bolts restoration in 2002, this Bond Bug is in fantastic condition and drives great. It has travelled 49280 miles (not km) since 1971. To say that it "turns heads" and produces "many smiles per litre" is an understatement. Certainly draws a lot of attention, and hence would make a great promotional vehicle, or simply a fun vehicle to enjoy with the family.
Have a read of the script in one of the photos to appreciate the uniqueness and popularity of what the Bond Bug represents. The vehicle also has side windows which are detachable, so it can be fully enclosed. There is also a new set of Bond seat covers, and a small range of spare parts included in the sale, along with a parts manual and various magazines - (this Bond Bug features in the July 2004 NZ Classic Car magazine, and a copy is included with the sale).
I am 189cm tall and am able to drive the vehicle comfortably and with ease, and am the 3rd owner since the import and restoration. Any inspection is welcome. The vehicle is available for viewing in Whitianga.
In 2018 a 1972 Bond Bug sold for over 16,000 pounds via auction at Sothebys in the UK, and one sold in Australia for circa AUD 30,000. Your own investigation through the internet will give you a good indication of the value of this vehicle.
