After the tragic events in Christchurch on Friday 15 March, Kiwi contemporary artist Dick Frizzell and his team created the “Kia Kaha Chch” design and sold it as a limited-run t-shirt fundraiser for Atta Elayyan’s family.
Atta (pictured) was one of the victims in the terror attacks. This one has a lot of significance at Trade Me as a bunch of our people worked with Atta, and others played futsal with him.
Dick, Ben and the team have very generously given us a signed and numbered print of this design to auction as a fundraiser to help those affected by the events.
The piece is a limited edition print, numbered 1/10, and is printed with archival ink on an A2 196gsm archival matte art paper.
Every cent raised will go to the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ). Trade Me will match the winning bid amount, with a donation to FIANZ.
FIANZ plays an important and valuable role in caring for the many and varied interests of the New Zealand Muslims. FIANZ endeavours to build better understanding between the Muslim community and the various ethnic and religious communities in New Zealand so as to live harmoniously and cohesively for better life for all.
The frame measures 53x73cm.
Shipping is on us! We will make sure the item gets to you safely. Or pick-up is possible in the Wellington CBD.
A massive thank you to Dick Frizzell, and the Dick’s World Team for very kindly giving us this piece to auction. And a big thanks to Art For Art’s Sake, Wellington, for providing the fabulous frame and mat.
